Written by: Ashley Proctor

Have you been thinking of ways you can stand out to leadership? Itching for a promotion? You don’t have to have the most experience in the office, have all the answers or even have the most skill. Training yourself to live by these ten things without even thinking about it will shape a positive image of you to management.

  1. Being on Time
    • Arriving late is showing that your time is more valuable than the time of the person who waited for you
  2. Work Ethic
    • Your work ethic can be shown through your integrity, quality of work, sense of responsibility, self-discipline, honesty and teamwork.
  3. Effort
    • Even if you may not see results from your effort immediately still give the same effort as if you were seeing results minutes after.
  4. Body Language
    • Nonverbal communication, it’s what you DON’T SAY that counts.
  5. Energy
    • Law of attraction. What you put into the universe you will get back. If you put positive energy into all you do, it will come full circle.
  6. Attitude
    • Attitude is everything. How you react to what life throws at you can be contagious.
  7. Passion
    • If there is no passion behind your work it will almost always be satisfactory when it could be outstanding.
  8. Being Coachable
    • The wise take time to learn from other people’s experiences. Be open to constructive criticism.
  9. Going the Extra Mile
    • Do more than what is expected. Go over and beyond the call of duty.
  10. Being Prepared
    • Piss poor preparation promotes piss poor performance.
